Jason Statham to Replace Shia LaBeouf in Transformers 4?

Now that model girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has replaced actress Megan Fox in the Transformers movies, it seems fitting that Huntington-Whiteley’s real-life boyfriend, British actor Jason Statham is rumored to be in line to replace Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming Transformers 4 movie.

The success of Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon has fueled rumors that a fourth Transformers movie is in the works. According to Showbiz Spy, an Hollywood insider revealed that the Transformers production team is on the lookout for a leading actor to fill the shoes of LaBeouf, and Statham is in the lead.

The insider explained, “it’s clear the franchise still has huge potential but with a new leading man capable of taking Transformers  in a new, darker direction” and ”Jason could be just the man to do that and his relationship with Rosie would be an added bonus in marketing the movie.”

The Statham rumor comes on the heels of LaBeouf’s insistence that a fourth Transformers movie would mean producers “would have to attempt it with somebody else.” At the NYC premiere of Dark of the Moon, LaBeouf continued, “we took it to the limit.
