Losing weight can dramatically affect the emotional and physical health. Quite often the process takes too long. Many people who use dietary supplements to accelerate weight loss. Products used varied, ranging from products that reduce appetite, inhibit fat absorption, and increase metabolism.

Experts do not recommend the use of dietary supplements marketed many products due to lack of scientific evidence. There are six supplements that claimed to help lose weight and be supported by scientific evidence. The following supplements can be your choice:

Weight-loss program should be based on healthy eating and regular physical exercise.

1. Calcium
Some studies found no association between calcium intake and weight loss.

"Some studies indicate that consumption of three servings of low fat dairy products a day can lose weight," said Toby Smithson, RD, a spokeswoman for the American Diabetes Association. Studies show that the combination of low-fat dairy products with low-calorie diet to lose weight more effectively than the use of calcium supplements.

In an analysis, researchers found, women who received 1,000 mg of calcium supplements a day lose more weight than women who received placebo.

2. Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)
Conjugated linoleic acid, fatty acid that is naturally contained in dairy products and red meat, is a promising dietary supplement.

Some studies found dietary CLA supplements can help to eliminate body fat and increase fat-free body mass. When a group of people who are overweight consume 3.2 grams of CLA per day for six months, they burn more body fat than participants who used a placebo. They also experienced less weight gain in the winter.

3. Fiber
"In theory, delaying gastric emptying of food and stay longer in the stomach will keep you full longer," said Sasha Stiles, MD, an obesity expert from Tufts Medical Center.

People who are overweight and obesity using a fiber supplement every day, reported decreased hunger after a meal compared using placebo.

The National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine recommends that men aged under 50 to consume 38 grams of fiber a day, and 30 grams after age 50. Being of women aged under 50 should consume 25 grams of fiber per day, and 21 grams after age 50.

4. Green tea extract
Consumption of green tea daily supplement helps to lose weight and body mass index. Green tea extract also helps reduce the amount of dangerous belly fat. In addition, green tea extract also lowers blood pressure and bad LDL cholesterol levels.

5. Meal supplements
Supplements decrease the weight that proved most effective is the meal replacement, including bars and shakes.

Meal replacement is only effective if used as directed. Dieters are encouraged to reduce calories at breakfast and lunch. Reducing calories from food are then replaced fresh fruit. Next, enjoy evening meals with controlled portions, about 500 calories.

"There is scientific evidence that strongly supports this way. This strategy is efficient and safe," said Steven R. Smith, MD, of Pennington Biomedical Research Center.

6. Orlistat
U.S. Agency Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to receive the drug sold without prescription. Many people who consider Orlistat as a dietary supplement.

"Orlistat has the data," said Caroline Apovian, MD, director of the Center for Nutrition and Weight Management at Boston Medical Center. "Orlistat inhibits the absorption of dietary fat calories to 25 percent."

Orlistat helps lose weight combined with diet and exercise.
