British vocalist Jamie Lidell is heading to Madrid for a live show later this month.
Known for his experimental approach to soul music, the 37-year-old performer has released a series of critically acclaimed albums on the influential record label Warp.
His gig at the Teatro Lara on Thursday July 28th should give fans in the Spanish capital a chance to hear tracks from his most recent LP Compass, which came out in May last year.
The show is due to begin at 22:15 local time, with tickets priced between €18 and €20 (£16.10 and £17.90).
Lidell, whose recent exploits have included opening up for Prince and releasing a remix EP of songs from Compass, has collaborated with cult musicians such as Gonzales and Feist.
Both artists made contributions to the recording of his latest album, which also features production by Beck and Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear.
Lidell's songs reached a wider audience when Multiply, the title track from his 2005 album, was featured on the soundtrack to popular US drama series Grey's Anatomy. [Source: allvoices.com]
