Google Maps 6.0 Android can Detect Indoor Position

Google constantly adding new features on Google Maps application. Google has just released the latest features or Maps 6.0 (maps indoor) for Android.

With an indoor feature of this folder, Android users can view a map of a building like malls, airports and other public spaces with a more complete view. This feature can locate or map the entire inside of the room, floor. In fact, Google Maps 6.0 is able to detect the user's position within a building, making it easier to find your way home.

"Detailed design of the floor automatically appear when you look at the map and enlarged in a building which features an indoor map is available," said a statement from Google. "Icons are familiar ie 'blue dot' will show your location and when you move up or down to the level of the building, would automatically update the look of the floor where you are."

For now, the new features of Google Maps 6.0 can be enjoyed in just a few buildings. Site plan which is supported in the initial release version of Google Maps 6.0 includes the Mall of America, IKEA, The Home Depot, Macy's and Bloomingdale's locations. Present also at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Chicago O'Hare Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Narita International and several retail outlets in Japan.
