Bangkok - The earthquake that rocked Thailand, centered in the mountains of Myanmar. This location is near the border of Thailand and Laos. The quake measuring 7 on the SR, shook eastern region of Myanmar, on Thursday (03/24/2011), with a depth of 10 kilometers. Report United States Geological Survey (USGS).

USGS reported the quake point located 90 kilometers north of Chiang Rai in Thailand and 235 kilometers northeast of Chiang Mai, Thailand's second city which became popular tourism destination. until now, there is no warning about the tsunami. Seismology experts say the quake is located too far inland to create a tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
